A collection of my sports picks. All other outlets have contrived rules on what can and can't be posted so I made my own sports picks portal. The plan is to eventually grow an entire community through an on-site forum and a mobile messaging app.
The plan was initially to always post riskier versions of picks made in Reddit/r/sportsbook POTD threads. However, the winrate was way too poor for sustained reputation building. I eventually decided to temper my expectations and post POTD picks, with only an occasional risky pick.
Modern websites require a team to build and a team to maintain. My main goal in making this website was minimal deployment and maintenance cost. That means no Javascript or other complicated technologies but also no ads, no tracking, no Google or other companies loading it up with cookies etc.
For example, the FC Barcelona basketball team website places nearly 1,000 cookies on your device, of which perhaps 10 are necessary; the rest are for tracking and serving ads (click the thumbnail below to load the full version, a 1080x2400 338.47 KB PNG image).
Yes. I don't use any tracking or collect any private information or have a scheme to place any cookies on your device so I don't need to abide by GDPR. The only cookies my website places on your website are the ones necessary for its operation, which are exempt from GDPR. Isn't simplicity sweet?
I don't use any complicated code either, so you can easily screenshot, record, or use my website with keyboard only. This is what websites should be like. For more info, check out WCAG guidelines and you'll see how user-hostile the internet is.
